I have a very strange error that I cant get to the bottom of. I have a project that references another project (basically a library Ive written)
I have written a new method in the library that opens up an xml file from the file system, I added this line
the file and path exist, the library compiles without error, but the project that references this library doesnt build, it complain about a missing assembly (the library)
as soon as I remove the above line everything compiles again, so it looks like the referenced library assembly isnt compiling, but it is !
has anyone else experienced something like this ?

This is probably your project referring 2 kinds of versions of your library. Remove all the library reference and build and refer the updated library again.

Please provide message,
otherwise I have seen this error due to .net client profile V/S Framework 4.0
Some time the project is directed (traget frameowrk is) to .net client profile,
try to make is Framework 4.0
Project-->proptries --> Application tab --> Target framework
