I am working on a ASP.NET 4.5 web application and use ASP.NET Identity for Authorization and Authenticaiton inside web app. I am using SQL Server store for identity with tables for Uses, Roles and Profiles.
I now want to develop a WCF service which will be hosted by asp.net web app itself. The client will be a WPF application and users will have to type username and password for signing in WPF App.
I have 2 questions:
1. How can I authenticate the user specified Usename and Password against ASP.NET Identity Users? Do I need to write a separate authentication WCF service for this?
2. How can I pass the same credentials to WCF service I am developing for my business needs? Ideally I would like WCF Service to authenticate and authorize caller against identity store. What configuration I will have to make for WCF Service?

There are many ways to configure WCF security. The best thing to do is read up on the subject from countless articles found on the internet and MSDN.
