I need to develop a small application at my workplace but the thing is that we are not allowed to install anything but the IT people with admin privileges.
I am not (by any means) against their security policies but the IT people requires to work under JAVA platform and it takes too long to get an application running.
I just need to create some simple ASP.Net forms as to eliminate and automate some procedure which involves people signing directly on a book in order to register loan operations of some items under my care. So I'd like to do some small ASP.Net development
and have it runing for me as to make my life easier.
It seems that they are used to have all their non IT people using Excel and some other Office stuff as to have things "automated"

Welcome to asp.net forum.
we are not allowed to install anything but the IT people with admin privileges.
First asp.net works on .net, it's different with Java.
According to your description above, I don't think this issue is related to your asp.net application, it seems that your company IT controls the installation of application.
You need consult the IT people first, perhaps they can help you.
If you have any concern, please let me know.

You're right. I already said what you're saying. The IT people is in charge. No question and no doubt about it.
What I said is what I wrote: I have some things that I must lend to some colleagues. The process of doing this give and return those things is tedious and boring so I need to write and run a solution that COULD be written in ASP:Net instead of Excel.
Our IT people doesn't have time for this little stuff so I am doing it on my own and I am using an USB version of portable FoxPro instead.
You might imagine how old fashioned that language is, don't you? Now imagine how old fashioned is to be keeping track of these transactions by means of a hand written notebook so people sign for each transaction and you must go back to check to the book in
order to find the place and the line where the loan was registered back in time. It's a lot of time consumption doing that way.
SO I AM NOT ASKING FOR SOMETHING ILLEGAL OR BYPASSING THE AUTHORITY OF THE IT PEOPLE ... I JUST NEED TO DEVELOP A VERY SMALL AND TINY APPLICATION IN ANY OTHER THING THAT SHOULD BE NOT FOXPRO OR EXCEL
