I'm working on a new windows 2008 R2 server with IIS 7.5 and I'm creating a new website that creates data sets based on user selections. Currently when I execute a job that is big the browsers time out. Firefox returns "The Connection has timed out" "The
server at ????? is taking too long to respond. IE just continuously spin and nothing is changing on the screen. Chrome works correctly. Can using SignalR prevent this error from appearing to the client? What is happening on the server is it is generating
the data files and a pdf file. The data files generate fairly quickly but the pdf file is taking a lot of time and at exactly 5 minutes Firefox gives me that error.
If signalR will work for this situation how should I begin to approach it?
