i`ve been trying to figure out how to port my local ASP.NET web service to a remote web host however since im new to web development i dont know how things work, behave regarding this topic.
The thing is im building a windows store app which involves many tecnologies and some of them not related to ASP.NET, its an online mini game with chat using sockets, everything is working as expected, the players move on both screens, the chat works,
toast notifications, etc.. and you might be asking yourself at this very moment, what does it have to do with what you want help for?
ok i will get to that point very soon, so im using sockets for the players locations and the chat but i also built a login system which is working perfectly locally, and that is the problem, so i created a login screen using a windows store blank page,
then i also created new a ASP.NET project which holds a WCF data service that communicates to a Mssql server through a ADO.NET entity data model , then from the main project i added a service reference which is the WCF data service to it , so i can then reffer
to it from the C# project in order to use the connection from the ADO.NET database ...
As i said, locally, the login service is working ok, but i basically have no idea of how to port or post it to a remote web host, since the web.config is configured to work only locally reffering to my local database connection string, and i dont know how
to mess with those configurations as i mentioned before im a total newbie to web services, i understand what
they say but i am not sure if i change some of those paths may affect it, and not work anymore since debugging becomes a little harder than c# code.
i know this topic involves many different but related tecnologies , such as ADO.NET,WCF data Service,MSSQL and Windows store apps, however i think this is most proper place to post this, if not please feel free to move my post to another thread.
So in a few words and straight to the point this time, how can i make this project work remotely in a web hosting( i dont know any free web hosting services that provides or allows me to use all those tecnologies please need help regarding that) , and how
do i import the right files to the web hosting file manager, what are those files, and what this free web service needs to have in order to allow me to get it to work? How do i configure the ASP.NET project so i can have it working to a remote server so i
can add a service reference?
i 'm afraid the text above isnt clear enough for the experts but i did try my best, if its not please feel free to ask me for rephrasing and stuff..
Thanks in advance,

Locally, you're administrator of your computer so you can refer any service with no problem. But it's not the same with hosting service. With your requirements, most probably you need a VPS server to work.

i appreciate your reply and im sorry for the delay, well i guess thats a starting point, but from there i have no clue how to set up the ASP.NET for that, to be honest i dont even know where to start, i know this sound like a lazy and stupid statement but
believe me i've been researching for that subject for a week and still had no conclusive answers, nor a clear direction, as a developer i hardly ever ask things and always try to look for it myself but this time guess that my lack of experience is making it
harder for me , so as i want this service only for testing purposes, thats why i dont want to go back to the basics and start learning web from scratch, aint got that on my todo list..
so considering that scenario what would be my chances to have this working? anyone willing to help me out and get me a clear direction, i can drop the ASP.NET project here without a problem in order to make it easy for help...
thanks in advance for any help,
