I have a field called REQUIRE_NEW_PASSWORD in the DB, if it's Y, then they are forced to enter a new password before moving onto any other part of the application, or at least that's what the end result will be.
I'm wondering where this should take place. I'm using forms authentication, so I need them to attempt to login, and then if the UserId they attempt to login with has the flag as Y, then I will do the redirecting. I've done this with Windows Auth,
but not Forms, so in terms of the life cycle i'm a bit confused. What part of the Global.Asax do I want to do the checking, since I need to wait for them to attempt a login first...

Can't you just do custom DB validation, like when the user enter his userID and on button click event you can check with your DB(validation) and if flag is Y you can redirect to NEW password entry page.
