I have a helpfile which is really a very large asp.net page with panels. The user clicks a help icon on a particular webpage, and then he's taken to this page, which has some initial code that makes everything invisible except for the section related to
that page (it uses the page name to decide).
I was thinking it would be nice to have a search-help feature.
To do that though, I can't just have the help text for all these webpages as a webpage itself. Probably the best approach is to put them into a large XML file, with maybe fields such as:
<title>How to choose a video</title>
<maintext>To choose a video, please go to the table of videos and....</maintext>
Then to do a search for a word like "video", I would use vb.net (actually asp.net) code to find a substring inside "maintext" or inside "title".
Can anyone point me to docs on how to do that? I think linqdatasource would be easier to use than the xmldatasource, but I can't find docs on setting it up with xml.

Instead of doing with xml you can read entire content of the page by using webrequest and webresponse...
string url = "http://MyApplication.com/default.aspx";
StreamReader reader=new StreamReader(srtContent);
