My table has such fields that should not be edited by end user: CreatedBy, CreatedDate, ModifiedBy, ModifiedDate.
What's the proper way to deal with them in Inser/Edit mode of the ListDetail page template?

Your solution is very neat when DD consumes the EF data model directly! Thank you!
In my project there's a service layer (WCF Data Service) between DD and EF data model. So it's not easy to use your solution directly.
Currently I'm using some customized field templates whose values are populated automatically and disbaled in Insert/Edit mode.

I did not realize you were using WCF have you check the WCF forums for a solution?

Thinkin about this if the back end of your WCF Domain Service is using Ef then this would still work if added there.
