I notice that this website chooses to show the very beginning of the content of a message versus the "full uncut" subject data when hovering the mouse over the subject link. I am honestly not real crazy about this design decision. If I can't read exactly
what the message is about because I can't see the entire "subject" data then showing just a portion of the actual message content is probably not going to help. I think it's a bad design choice.
The funny thing is the preview you are offered when hovering the "subject" is like a single line of data. Are you serious? Fail.
Maybe the webmasters could make this an option available to the client versus strongarming the decision into the website. Please tell Julie Lehrman that I don't mind making some of my own decisions. Even though I run the risk of frying my brain.

Thanks for the feedback and I agree that we have room for improvement.
On the forums landing page (http://forums.asp.net/) and forum group pages (e.g.
http://forums.asp.net/default.aspx/7?General+ASP+NET), we do present the "full uncut" subject data when hovering.
However, on forum thread list pages (e.g.
http://forums.asp.net/15.aspx/1?Getting+Started) and filtered thread list pages (e.g.
http://forums.asp.net/f/mythreads/0/1/20) we are (re-)presenting the thread status along with the beginning text of the last post in the thread.
I think we could make the following updates:
