We have a classic XML Web service written in VB.NET (running on the 4.5 framework) that is multi-threaded. We were running the site as anonymous and using impersonation within the spawned threads to get the thread to operate under the proper user account
for auditing and access purposes. This worked perfectly for years, but we recently had to implement SmartCard authentication, changing the Website to require Windows authentication. Ever since this change we cannot get the newly spawned thread to operate
on anything but the appPool identity. Is there a way to force the thread to spawn under a specific identity or change to an identity of our choosing? If so, how would that be accomplished? Thanks for any advice.

This issue is about web service, I think you'd better post it in
