We would like to migrate our current reports in Windows form to SSRS. The reports will need to be accessed through:
1. Window application
2. SSRS browser portal
The reports will be distributed to multiple clients, and we are not sure the best way to deploy the reports. Through some discussion with a couple of IT experts, we were told that there are 2 ways of accessing (and deploying) the reports, but we are not
sure which one is more appropriate:
Your comments and advice are most appreciated!

First of all we must understand the difference between RDLC and RDL.
RDL files are created by the SQL Server 2005 version of Report Designer. RDLC files are created by the Visual Studio 2005 version of Report Designe.
For more information about the difference between them, please refer to the links below:
If all the clients use the same report model, I suggest to use RDL report. If all the clients use different report models, please use RDLC, because we can design the logic query to open the RDLC report.
Hope it’s useful for you.

Thanks for your comments.
In reality, we may need to provide both reports to the end users of different environment. If I maintain one type of report (such as rdl), how hard would it be to convert to the other one (for instance, rdlc)?
