I want to know the difference between ASP.net Profile and Membership. How are they used together.

As it stays in the name, profile is a feature for keeping an information about individual user, its profile. For example, you might want to store the user's address so that your application can offer region-specific information, such as weather reports.
The membership is another feature that gives a way to validate and store user credentials. ASP.NET membership therefore helps you manage user authentication in your Web sites. You can use ASP.NET membership with ASP.NET forms authentication by using
with the ASP.NET login controls to create a complete system for authenticating users.
In simple words, membership is for authenticating the user, profile is for storing users's personal data.
