I have been using a SQL Server 2008 database, the connectionstring is fine and has been working. We have been asked now to setup SSL on the db server, the db team did this. Do I need to adjust my connectionstring at all, or does it automatically use the

You have to add "encrypt=true;" to your connection string.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqlclient.sqlconnection.connectionstring.aspx you have to use encrypt=yes. Also it seems names should closely match (ie using just myserver rather than myserver.mydomain.com may not work).
Also note that as far as I know, HTTPS is SSL encryption for the web and is unrelated to the protocol used by SQL Server (even though it uses the same SSL encryption scheme).
