I am encountering a question about ashx anthentication. I have iphone application: on the iphone side, we use html5 to create GUI; on the server side, we use ashx to handle the ajax calls. Now, everything looks good, if we use this application by accessing
the website hyperlink hosted at IIS.
But when we set this website as an icon on Home Screen of iphone, we have to input username and password for each start of this application. We increase the Session timeout to maximum in the web.config, but it is useless. This issue does not happen if we
use the above website hyperlink. By using website hyperlink, we just need to login once when we access it , and we do not need to login it for each start. We are using Windows Anthentication in the web.config.
Any ideas about it? Also, how can ashx anthenticate an user if we transfer his/her username and password from html5 local storage? Any examples?
Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the reply. In my code, the server side ashx handler implements both IHttpHandler and IRequiresSessionState. Any further ideas?
