I'd like to request a "pinning" feature for threads. The idea is to be able to pin threads of my choice so that they will appear at the top of whatever forum section I'm on (I'd especially like that for the inbox, but other forums would be nice as well).
Sort of like how you can pin a Visual Studio project under the Recent Projects section (using the pin icon). So basically adjust the ordering/sorting of records to show pinned items at the top followed by non-pinned items.

It seems like we could consider repurposing "Favorite Threads" for this rather than introducing a completely new feature. Would that make sense? We could also look at adding an option to Search to filter by my favorite/pinned threads.

As far as the inbox is concerned (which is what got me to make this request in the first place) I'd be happy with being able to search my inbox. I have MANY pages of inbox and when I tried to locate a message recently that I know I have, it took forever
and I just gave up.
The thing I dislike about the favorites is that it takes you away from where you are. You have to go to your profile and look at favorties there, and even there you have to sift through all your favorites to find something. It's just not very practical (yes,
I know I can open it in an other tab/window but still). If I could pin threads say in My Threads, or Unanswered, or Unresolved, then I'd see them right there on the page without having to navigate away. This would be especially nice because sometimes a thread
is "hot"/important, for me, and I'd like to see it at the top of whatever list/page I'm on.
Now, of course, it depends on what you mean by "repurposing" :-)
