I am getting following error while publishing Asp.net application. I am using Visual Studio 2012.
"Exception in executing publishing: The project file could not be loaded. Root element is missing. C:\Program Files(x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\web\deploy\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.Deploy.FileSytem.targets".

You can try look for the file inside the project's folder, and delete the .user file for your project, and check whether it will work.
