Don't know what happened to this but I swear I didn't do anything that might break the environment:
I use a laptop to develop my project which uses crystal report, and it worked fine before. but just now when I am doing some debugging (no any code change!), the report can't be generated as the right file name with '.pdf', here is the code:
Catch ex As Exception
exFlag = True
.Write("The report failed due to server load. Please click Back and try again.<br><br><br><br><br>Exception details follow:<br>" & ex.ToString)
''Write the pdf file to the client's browser as an attachment
If Not exFlag Then
.ContentType = "application/pdf"
.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" & fileNameToSaveAs)
The file will be generated as a PDF format but no ".pdf" extension name. And I don't get prompt as usual.
I doubt this has anything to do with my code, does anyone experience this before?
Any clue is greatly appreciated!.
I am using Firefox, I just checked, it's v21.0, I don't know what the version it was when it worked before.

Did you try a different browser?

yes, still working in IE, so this is a browser issue?! then how come in FF the file extension is missing?

although this is not the same version check this out...
What happens if you reset FF back to the default settings?
What happens if you unload FF and reinstall?
Just some thoughts.

since the project works on particular browser and fails on the other browser, then the issue is not with the Crystal Report. Instead, it has something to do with the browser
