I did it - it was scary simple. I had to create a new data base in the MS sql server manager , then I clicked on the Migrate icon, and it said 'nope' at first, I changed the dropdown from database to windows , and entered the full name of the sql server,
gave it the name of the database I had created - it asked several questions regarding do you want to write over existing tables, etc. I said no, since this was all a new database and it started migrating my app over. So I am now running ms sql express -
and I have views (yea ) and stored procedures (yea) available to me. At my day job - I use sql server 2005, 2008 - so I use this stuff all day long - - but headaches galore, probably caused by the obessesion with security, understandable but adds lots of
new considerations all the time.
