I am currently looking into creating a few office automation templates in MS Word 2010 that will have a few bookmarks which need to be populated from a database.
This project will need to be completed in C#, so any answers should be in C# please.
I am completly new to this and have limited knowledge of C#, when surfing the net for info on how to get started with this i found it very hard to find any examples that start from the basics.
I am hoping someone will be able to point me into the direction of some usefull resources to learn this (the simpler the better)

First you should learn relevant basics about C#, a series of C# tutorials are available for you in MSDN library,

I would recommend you to check Docentric Toolkit. I'm not sure what kind of "automation" you would like to perform but if your task is to create a word document automation solution where you need to populate templates
from (database) data this might be a pefect solution - but not a free one.
