I am using SQL CE 4. I got a table (TABLE A) which has 2 columns the rID and pID. It links another table (TABLE B). Basically I want to copy the contents of TableA.rID in tableB into a column called prID where tableA.pID is equal to tableb.ID
How can I do this?

It seems that you want to copy column from one table to another in SQL CE 4.0, you could refer the discussion that copy data values in column from one table to another in SQL Database below, and check whether it is helpful to you,
With kind regards

Try as below,
Update TableB set prID=(Select top 1 rID from TableA where TableA.pID=TableB.ID)
