HI all. I have a web service that has work fine for the past couple of years on our win2k3 IIS 6 server. Now we're upgrading to Windows 8 IIS 8. The site is configured ot use ASP.NET 2.0 in classic mode and everything works fine except fot this webservice.
It error when we try to access the HTTPContext object. Error message below:
HttpContext is not available. This class can only be used in the context of an ASP.NET request.
We are not trying to run this as a WCF service, and infact would prefer not to as we have to interact with our existing webapplication. I'm not sure how we could make that work easily under WCF. Is this something that I cna fix in the code, or is it something
I will have to configure on the server.
We have mapped our handlers in IIS configuration, and in the web.config file.

This happens when the web service is expected to be hosted in WCF with aspnetcompatibility where HttpContext can be used. If aspnetcompatibility is not enabled, it cannot be used
