I am new to WCF. I am using vs2008. I am learning it from msdn library. I followed the following steps to add WCF Service but i
can't find WCF Data Service.
Why can't i find WCF Data Service template in VS 2008
I can only find Ado.net data service. I also want to know the diiference between ado.net data service and wcf data service.
On the Project menu, click Add New Item.
In the Add New Item dialog box, select WCF Data Service.
In the Name field, type NorthwindCustomers, and then click Add.
The NorthwindCustomers.svc file will appear in the Code Editor.

I want to know the answer to this question as well. I see reference to "WCF Service" and "WCF Data Service". Since I treat language as a precision instrument, these are two different things. One is a service, the other is a "data service". I am following
Glen Gailey's sample WCF Data Services quickstart and his instructions for getting the "WCF Data Service" template added to VS 2008 - is not working.

Here's what I found out. (Are you still looking for an answer to this?...)
(WCF Data Services was previously called ADO.NET Data Services) - Glenn Gailey
So, you must add an "ADO.NET Data Service" to your project in VS. 2008 (which I am still using, BTW)
