I started encountering this error yesterday. I tried reparing visual studio and tried the command prompt but without success. Can anybody help me out ? Here is the full error message :
Unable to attach to application 'WebDev.WebServer.EXE' (PID: XXXX) using 'MYPCNAME'. A debugger dll, msdbg2.dll, is not correctly installed.
Please repair your Visual Studio installation via 'Add or Remove Programs' in control panel.
If the problem persists, you can manually register msdbg2.dll from the command prompt with 'regsvr32 "%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\msdbg2.dll"'.

i fixed it by navigating directly to the VS7Debug folder and then typing regsvr32 msdbg2.dll as opposed to writing the whole path like shown in my first comment !
who would have taught ???

Stop all running server in System tray,
other wise Restart system(Last option)

I usually try that when I encounter the error, but this time it was different.
I was installing software which required me to do a reboot, and I had visual studio 2008 open. I "Forced closed" visual studio 2008 when I was prompted to reboot, and I'm under the impression that doing this unregistered the dll.
