From MVC4 page on this site one can get an installer for MVC4 targeting Visual Studio 2010.
ASP.NET MVC 4 for Visual Studio 2010:
ASP.NET MVC 4 Web Platform Installer for Visual Studio 2010 SP1
Download the standalone ASP.NET MVC 4 installer executable
So where is the point in this and how could one install .NET 4.5 (required for MVC4) with VS2010 since it only suports <= .NET 4?

As far as I understand, MVC 4 are open source projects and can be installed via package manager/ standalone installation and the required assemblies to run this will also be installed. It can have some assemblies which are avaialbe in .Net 4.5

Let me clear it for you: MVC4 requires .NET 4.5 => Visual Studio 2010 does NOT support .NET 4.5.

Can you quote me link from Microsoft saying that MVC requires .Net 4.5?
MVC 4.0 doesn't require .Net 4.5

Because it's saying that I should update to the lastest .NET 4.5 framework and won't let me continue?

just to confirm,
asp.net 4.5 is only supported in VS 2012 and not VS 2010.
You can download asp.net 4.5 from http://www.asp.net/vnext
For asp.net 4.5 and
asp.net mvc 4 hosting, you can consider asphostcentral.com. Thanks heaps!
