I am developing a web application that uses an XML file. The content of such a file must change under certain conditions, so I use the XmlTextWriter class to generate a new file (with the same file name) each time the condition is met. All of the development
has been done in a Windows XP machine and the XML file is updated without any problem. Now, I have installed the web site in a Windows Server 2008 machine and it seems that the XML file does not change at all. This is the behavior in the Windows Server 2008
machine: if the file does not exist, it is created; if the file already exists then its content remains the same. What can be going wrong? Is this a question for a Windows Server 2008 forum?

I found the solution. The file had to be created firstly in the Windows Server 2008 machine so the Creator User was updated.
