I sure hope someone can help with this one and I know I am going to have trouble explaining it correctly. Basically, we have been using a custom control which renders a pie chart from some data returned from a stored procedure. We have been using this code
for a few years now. We have a total of 5 websites sharing a central database. 3 of the servers are running server 2003/32bit and 2 are recently upgraded to server 2008/64bit systems. IT intends on upgrading the remaining 3 soon as well so we finally got around
to upgraded our web-application to .NET 3.5 as well. We tested the 3.5 upgrade on 32bit servers only as that is all we have available to us. Well, yesterday we rolled out the new release with the 3.5 upgrade and our pie charts stopped rendering only on the
server 2008/64bit servers. I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
One last detail. Prior to yesterday, the image did render on server 2008/IIS7 - but under .NET 2.0. Yesterday we upgraded the server to 3.5 and that's when it stopped rendering. All of the servers are now at 3.5 and as I said earlier, the 32bit servers are
working just fine.
The pie chart we render is based off a project from codeproject by user Blong.
The code can be found here:
There are no errors thrown anywhere. The chart just doesn't render. It renders fine out of visual studio and fine out of the 32bit/server 2003 systems but just shows the missing image box out of both of the server 2008/64bit servers.
Does anyone have any ideas about what may cause this ? I looked thru the 3.5 web.config, applicationHost.config, machine.config, and IIS7 setting but frankly the changes are so vast I am a bit overwhelmed with what I am looking at. My gut says it's something
to do with HttmpModules or HttpHandlers but I am not 100% sure about that. Any help would be very very appreciated.
