I have a developement PC and a web server that I want to publish to on the same network. This web server does not have the app currently running on it, and it doesn't have Visual Studio. It is simply a PC with IIS installed.
Is there some way that I can "Publish" to the remote server from Visual Studio on the developement PC? Or, do I have to package up the web application into an installer? I tried to do a publish to the remote PC using the address "http://<IPADDRESS>" where
<IPADDRESS> is the ip of the remote pc that I want to serve the web app. The web server has IIS installed, but do I have to get it all configured before I publish it?
I am going to have multiple publishes to the server, so I think the easiest way is to set it up so I can publish to the remote PC.

Alos, to publish your project to your server.. you can just point the IP Address and then the location where to publish on the server and you should be good.. Make sure the server allos remote connections..
Please see if the following links will be of any help

No need the Visual Studio for remote servers. It needs only to configure IIS that is enough.
Hope this will help .

Thanks for the information. I think the easiest thing to do here is a straight copy on the server. Otherwise, I will look into ftp.
