Would much appreciate some guidence... I have developed in Access for some time and would like to make a move to Visual Studio. I've been going through tutorials on ASP.Net but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I want to be able to extract data
from a database, minipulate the data and write it back to the database. Pretty common stuff. In Access I use SQL to extract the data I need and create a recordset, minipulate the records on the recordset and write it back. I'm looking for some examples of
doing similar programming in ASP.

The 2 most popular approaches are ADO.net and LINQ2SQL.

You're really dealing with a separate paradigm with the Visual Studio Tools than what you're use to in Access.
to the more advanced stuff.

Thank you both for your posts. Both sound like sound advice. I'm a little further along than just beginning ASP. I've been going through a beginner's book etc. My main goal is to use a database (SQL Server is fine) and report/update items on it. I guess
what I was looking to find out was, does VB have something similar to the recordset used in VBA (i.e. Access). Also looking for examples on the web but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.
Thank you both,
