I have recently installed SQL Server Compact 4.0, but when I try to view .sdf files within the app_data files of solutions in VS 2010's Server Explorer, I don't have a Data Source for SQL Server Compact 4.0 and only have SQL Server Compact 3.5. The SQL Server
Compact 4.0 installation didn't install on for Visual Studio. When I try to use the SQL Server Compact 3.5 data source option to connect to a SQL Server Compact 4.0 .sdf file and "Test Connection", I get this error:
"The file is not a valid SQL SERVER Compact file or the file version is not valid..."
I'm trying to learn how to use Entity and all the sample solutions out there use SQL Server Compact 4.0 .sdf files. It is really frustrating trying to learn how the class objects in the samples match the database that they refer to if I cannot see the actual
SQL Server Compact 4.0 file and the database it contains.
How can I look at a SQL Server Compact 4.0 .sdf file and inspect the tables either with a seperate client or in Visual Studio 2010's Server Explorer through some data source provider I can use to connect (not the current SQL Server Compact 3.5 data source
that I have, which actually won't work with 3.5 sdf files since I installed SQL Server Compact 4.0 either)???
How do I see the contents of a SQL Server Compact 4.0 .sdf file?

You need to install Service Pack 1 for VS 2010 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691). It includes support for SQL Server Ce 4 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983509)
From memory, it takes ages to install...

Installing SP1 is not enough, you also need to install the SQL CE 4.0 Tools for SP1, either via WebPI or download -
