I have a stoopid questions. I'm using VC 2010 and building a web app. I've got a SQL Server table with one char(32) field that has no relationships, no indices, no primary key and is nullable and it has 50 recorsd. Let us say it is a list of names - Dave,
My connection to my data source in web.config works great as I can execute my own SQL statements with no problem. I then drop a gridView control on my form and configure the SQL datasource and for some reason the options under the 'Advanced' button are
not avaiable. I've got a complex related table that works great, but my simple table cannot write back. FYI, I do not have a read only user created yet ..
Why would a simple table not allow updates, inserts and deletes to be enabled?

You need a primary key for the table for the updates and deletes to be enabled
