Hello all. I am having some trouble with an intranet site. For years I have used <authentication mode ="Windows" /> without issue. If employees go to the site from work using IE, the page is served, and if they are at home (or at work using Firefox or Safari)
they are prompted for a username/password. Now that Win 7 and IE8 are coming around, I changed the site from .Net 2.0 to .Net 4.0. I am now noticing that from work you are prompted for credentials, and if you select a file you are then prompted 3 times before
it fails (and displays the file anyway). Can anyone point me to why this might be happening now? The server is still running 2003 with IIS 6.

IIS authentication has to match the web.config.
