I got the following problem:
- I added an mp4 video to a document library and tried to load it from an iPad using html5 <video> tag and accessing the link directly (so iPad uses QuickTime to run the video). In both cases I had no success.
Using html5 the video doesn't load, and an empty black square is shown in the place where the player should be. However, no error message is show.
Accessing the link directly the player shows a "play" icon with a slash and I got the following message: "byte_range_error_message".
I tested both cases on pc using IE9 and Safari and it worked fine.
After some tests I came to realise that the problem has something about uploading the video in a document library, because when I put the video into a folder inside the project, it worked fine on iPad (i.e accesing http://sharepoint/video.mp4, instead of
Does anyone knows the reason for this conflict and how to solve this issue?
Thanks in ad

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried already those solutions and didn't work for me.
Yesterday I changed the codecs of the mp4 file and now I got the error: The file could not be open.
But it's only accessing by iPad and when the video is into a sharepoint document library
No idea how to solve this

1. In IIS add type/mpeg to MIME type
2. Use iisreset prompt command as admin
if this doesnt fix try:
1. open your web.config
2. search for "blobcache"
3. set "enable" to True
4. set "maxsize" to 75
5. ensure that mp4 is listed in "path" value
this second was the solution for me
hope it helps
