I am having a situation where I have 2 Web ASP.NET applicaitons deployed to a single IIS server and periodically both applications lock on the reportviewer control. I will keep the details general to start and can supply more detail as needed.
I have yet to determine the exact series of events to trigger this but what happens is a user goes to a screen in one of the applications and their report does not render. From that point, any user on any machine using any of the applications cannot pull
up a report using a ReportViewer control. In this case, both of the applications are using the ReportViewer 10.0.0.0 control running in LocalMode. These applications are deployed on the same site using Windows Server 2003 w/SQL Server 2005 for the database.
One other thing to note is that screens touching the exact same data work perfectly fine during this event if they don't have the reportviewer control on them so I'm fairly certain it isn't a data connection or transaction issue.
If I cycle the Application Pool, then the users again can receive their reports for a period of several hours. There are no events recorded in association to this error, and the only thing I have is they simply hourglass on the control. As I stated, I
can supply more detail as needed but at this point, trying to figure out a good way to debug this or any ideas what might be occurring.
