When developing on Apache I could define multiple "development" sites on my machine by defining domains in the "Hosts" file ( all directed towards localhost 127.0.0.1). I could then use the "VirtualHosts" configuration within Apache to define each of the
What is the equivalent process on IIS Express? I have tried to define multiple sites, pointing each at the "root" directory for each site, though this has as yet not yielded any results. I either get errors reporting IIS has no access to the files, or the
webserver just times out.
Anyone know of any web resources (tutorials) on how to set IIS up for this.

You should define the appropriate host headers. You could check at how to add a new site in IIS7.

If you're using some unregistered domains, you also need to bypass the dns in windows "hosts" file. You also need to specify it from IIS "binding" which is equal to "iis host header" in IIS6.
