Hi - I have a report that was recently converted from 2005 to 2008R2. It is a large master report with many levels of subreports inside it and it worked fine in 2005. The 2008 report appears to run fine and displays everything it should on the screen.
If I click print and look at the print preview, I can only page through the first couple pages. Then my "next" button on the print preview becomes disabled and I cannot page to the end of the report. Likewise, when it prints, only 1/2 of the report prints
(whatever I can see in the print preview). In terms of the total number of pages in the report, it varies, but the one I am looking at only has 5 pages, so it is not overly long.
Also, if I export to a PDF, I get an error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", but if I choose to export to Excel, it exports fine.
I am at wits end trying to figure out what is causing this.....does anyone have any suggestions?
The reason I think it has to do with the size of the subreport is because if I remove some display fields in the sub report, it works fine. Then if I add a big rectangle to the top of the subreport - with nothing in the rectangle - the report fails.
Any help is appreciated.

Turns out this was because Keep Together was set to true on the master report for the embedded sub-report. I set it to false and all works fine. I am surprised it didn't simply put in a page break and display the report. Hopefully this will help someone
else if they run in to a similar problem.
