Alternative would be to resign, so that I could create a new account. How can I do that?

account names cannot be altered so if you prefer to have a new account name then the simplest thing to do is sign up again.
If your current account is assigned to an email address that you would want to associate with a different account, then you'd want to change that email on your current account to something different before you try to sign up again. this frees up that email
so it can be used on another account.
If your current account is associated with a liveid and you want to use that same liveid with a different account then that liveid would first need to be disassociated from your existing account. you can request your liveid to be disassociated at the sites
The contact form is found on this page: http://www.asp.net/feedback

Hi, Thank you for your reply.
I have now written to the ASP.NET Site Feedback, as you kindly suggested, two or three times (I wrote them also earlier, before posting to this thread). I only get a robot reply "thank you for contacting ... we will come back ... etc"
Are you sure these feedback forms will eventually be read and replied by a real person?

Yes, they are being read. I apologize for the delay in reply.
