Hi, I have encountered a very strange thing. I have an mdf file, ProjectData.mdf, in my project. This is where my data is placed. But sometimes in the Database Explorer window it shows that there is another database named
ProjectData.mdf1. Can anyone tell me what this .mdf1 file is and its relationship with the original ProjectData.mdf file? Besides, when I use Linq to Entities sometimes the ProjectData.mdf is affected, sometimes the ProjectData.mdf1 is affected.
This has created lots of confusion and trouble to me.
I have tried to search on the internet about what the .mdf1 file is but found very little information. I would be very grateful if someone can explain it to me. Great thanks in advance!!!

Many thanks, gaikwad, for your helpful reply! May I just ask you a follow-up question?
How can I choose which file to query to because sometimes my query is effective to the original one and some other times effective to the backup one (and the data in those two databases are not in sync with each other)? Or more specifically, if I just want
to query against the original one, namely ProjectData.mdf, what should I do to avoid my query being automatically directed to the backup file?

I just found that the problem described in my question is caused some other factor. I have managed to fix it somehow. Thanks, gaikwad, for your reply!
