My Project is using AD in dot net application.
My Question : Do we have same User in different Organization units in Active Directory?
My Aim is to provide change username facility for the user. So for checking purpose, if the new userlogin name exists in different OU, then do we accept it or reject it?
Thanks & Regards,

No, two users with the same username cannot exist in AD. If you try to rename it to existing username, it will through error.

As stated above, no two users can have the same name. All objects in AD will have a unique name. While the object will only be located in a single OU, it can be apart of many groups. Since the samaccountname is a unique identifier for the user I would not
advise allowing users to change their names at will.
