as i had installed this sql long back but was not able to use it due to errors
is there any way i can chek for username password or change it
i do have the administartive rights
how & where do i check it in teh registry
i dont want to uninstall & reinstall sql server 2008 again
so any way i can get teh logins
sql server 2008 r2 & i have windows 2008 server OS

You can change the password if you have the admin rights. open sa properties, change the password, and it will work fine. If you want enforce password policy, click that option.

If Windows authentication was enabled on SQL, then you can login without sa-account. Change authentication type in Login screen from Sql Server to Windows and try to login. After that you could change sa-password.
