Can u please help me on how to stop asking the credential while opening report manager/ report server in SSRS 2008.
It opens fine on the depoloyed server. But when I am trying to open the ReportServer or the Reports on any other server using the same Web Service URL, I am always getting a prompt for windows authentication. When I give the UserName and Password for the machine
on which I deployed the reports, the ReportServer and the Reports url opens fine. But I do not want the prompt for windows authentication to appear. Could you please help me resolve this? I read so many forums but none of the solutions is working for me. Below
are all the ways I tried to resolve this issue. But none of them worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I tried removing the <RSWindowsNegotiate/> tag from the rsreportserver.config and restart the ssrs.
I tried to changing the <authentication mode="Windows" /> to <authentication mode="None" /> in the web.config of the ReportServer and ReportManager folders.
I tried giving the username and password in the tag <identity impersonate="true"/> as <identity impersonate="true" username="xyz" password="xyz"/> by keeping the Windows authentication mode as <authentication mode="Windows" /> in the web.config of the ReportServer
and ReportManager folders.
I have my TargetServerURL as http://<machinename>/ReportServer and the TargetReportFolder as XYZ and the TargetDataSourceFolder as XYZ/Data Sources when I deployed my reports.
