I have a Win server R2 2008 and I use remote desktop connection with local drives enabled ->options->local resources->Local devices and resources->more->and select the drive (c drive for example). Then log onto the server and see my local c drive. I find
this better than setting up ftp because after you copy you can test immediately and if unhappy efficiently replace original files also no need to install configure and change security settings.

If you setup this you will have to configure security after setup. Here is Microsoft steps
