Lately I was playing with asp.net 4.5 developer preview, and made some test application. I'm happy that I can use strongly - typed model bindings, however I was surprised when figured out, that DropDownList control doesn't have SelectedItem property anymore.
Can't find any information related to this, maybe you can navigate me to the rite topics abt changes in core asp.net web server controls. Or if anybody already worked with DropDownList in asp.net 4.5, maybe can tell, how we should set selectedItem on DropDownList.

This is impossible. The ASP.NET team will never do such a breaking change, can you let us know how did you tried to access the control? from where ? can you mention the code block please?

Well from markup I was tried to bind selecteditem of dropdownlist, however ddl didn't recognize selecteditem property, intellisence didn't had selecteditem property either. You can check it yourself. I was surprised too, do you guys know what's goin on?

Yeah well I suppose I have to say sorry, cuz I tried it and actually it has SelectedItem property, thou I think because this is developer preview, of course it will have odd situations, like in my case, there is no selecteditem property in intellisence list,
but you can set SelectedItem property on the DropDownList. And one thing i'm unhappy about is intellisence doesn't work on aspx when using strongly - typed binding ( correct me if I'm wrong, maybe VS2011 installation went wrong on my computer ), in particular,
nothing shows up when using Item property in data-binding expression. If one of you have intellisence support for this, pls respond so I'll know that only my machince doesn't support it.
