I have been working on an app which lets the user to place a marker in the limited country , say China. Placing the marker will be done a textbox where they type in their location and store it in the database long, lati coordinates. It sounds as simple as
that but when I really sit down to work on it first problem I encounter was how to let user to be able to specify the exact (at least average) location on the map ? Since, typing in chinese language into Google Map will definitely not work and most streets
names will be in chinese in reality. Even if ones manage to type in English try to identify the place, it's definitely hard to check for the spelling such as user might type
guanghou instead of guangzhou. If I wanna suggest the user that hey it's guangzhou that's recognized on Google but not guanghou, but I dun have the entire geographical database with all the names listed for a particular country
(that'd be very costly believe me and if that's the only way, i guess I'm gonna abandon this project). Any inputs, suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks all
