what i the difference between writing a hardcoded object to an xml file and serialising when you put data in a dbase they dont call it serialising ?

Serializing is based on OOP (Object-Oriented Programming). This means that you can serialize and deserizalize things (including data contents as well as other important things) into a form of class instance, through these properties you can do fetching data...
Compared with directly into DB, you have to read data out and assign to class instances manually, these values are seperated from each other (I mean these data contents are
Discrete, not like what we do with OOP's serialization).
