I am currently using visual studio 2010 ultimate version, and .net framework version available from 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4 (using 4 for most of the time).
Lately I am working on a website using the .net 4, but then i found on Internet that there is a control, "mediaplayer" available with .net 3.5 sp1, under the "asp.net 3.5 extension preview" tab in the toolbox, I am sort
of needing the control, but I can't found the related tab in my .net 4, so I think I should go download the whole .net 3.5 sp1 from Microsoft website, after downloading, I found that I cannot run neither the
dotnetfx35 (full version) nor dotnetfx35setup (bootstraper) =>
.net framework 3.5 sp1. I mean after double clicking, a progress bar showed and extracting going on, soon after the extraction done, nothing appear?!?!?! and then a dialog box showed with something like:
nothing happen as well for either one option choosed.
I am not a geek, I dunno what happen, what is the problem? Does it mean I already have
.net framework 3.5 sp1 installed? If it does, why can't I see the "asp.net 3.5 extension preview" tab in the toolbox. I tried to create new website with the existing the .net 3.5 (thought that it might be already a
.net framework 3.5 sp1), still didn't see the "asp.net 3.5 extension preview" tab.
After that, I tried to uninstall my current .net framework 4.0 (client profile + extended + multi-targeting pack)
using the dotnetfx cleanup tool , hoping the the downloaded
.net framework 3.5 sp1 will work (run) after getting rid of the current .net 4. Still nothing happen, neither the
dotnetfx35 (full version) nor dotnetfx35setup (bootstraper)
get to do something, still the same extracting progress bar showed and then nothing happen!!!
Some help please, any replies would be greatly appreciated!!!!
