using report builder 2.0 and C#.net 2005
I need to return a string from my assembly that informs the report of the location of an image based on input and I put excpetion
handling in my assembly so if there is an exception it returns the message (this is not an issue with the assembly because I tested it
on my machine with a console application and it works well from my machine), for some reason the report server cannot access or does not have access to
the folder that I am trying to reach. Anyways, the exception handling from my assembly returns a message like this "error: + Exception.Message"
so what I'm seeing on my report is:
error: Access to the path "\\MyImageServer\ParentFolder\ChildFolder\SomeOtherFolder\" is denied
The line of the code that is causing the exception is
MyArray = System.IO.Directory.GetDirectories(MyImageDirectory);
any ideas? when i go to the report server I am able to manually navigate to the folder mentioned in the exception above without any
problem. It appears that the report needs to have permission to access the folder but not sure how to do this.
I am actually accessing this same folder from a windows application on another server but cannot access this folder from my reports
I am thinking that it is an access issue related to what username is running the report.
How do i determine what username the report builder is running under? please help
