I have a newbie question. In my ASP .NET application I use a GridView control to display billing data. Next to the GridView I need to seperately display some other data such as invoice number in a textbox or label etc. I wonder which databound ADO .NET control
is better suited for displaying single piece of data?
Thanks in advance!

If you are going to display only one value, then label sounds good. If you want to pull one record with few values then use DetailsView. But as per your explanation, I believe its only one value. Use Label. If you want more user intuitive, the you need not
go for label also. Display the value as tool tip. Display the tooltip on mouse over of the row. If you want user to click it or mouser over for anything just render the value along with gridview and display the rendered value. Let me know if you have any questions...

If you want to show a collection of data contents but everytime only once appearing——DetailsView is your choice.
Otherwises, if you'd like to define your own UI and show one record every time, FormView is your choice.
