I am working on Managing Active directory account using System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement. I am using the principalcontext and I get "Logon failed due to bad username and password". My clarification needed is whether my machine need to be in Domain
as i work now out of domain and running using VS 2010.
PrincipalContext oPrincipalContext = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain, sDomain, sDefaultOU, ContextOptions.SimpleBind, sServiceUser, sServicePassword);

As long as the system has access to the network and you pass a user/password that has access to the directory it shouldnt have to be on the domain.
