In crystal report, after I draged a field [Order2009] to the detail section, how to change [Order2009] to [Order2010]?
I did it as the way below:
1) delete [Order2009]
2) drag [Order2010] from field view to detail section
I do not think this the best way to replace field.

Ideal way is changing the column name in the stored procedure.
Specify a alias name as Order2009 [OrderColumn] and drag OrderColumn onto details section in the report designer. If you change the column to Order2010 or something else in future, you do not need to change the report design and thus dll. It is just a change
in the stored procedure.

I believe you did the traditional way when replacing the retrieved fields come from differrent database fields (dataset, table, store procedure, etc...) in Crystal Report Field Explorer into detail section using drag and drop. If you like to change the
name you need to verifying changes to the data source. Changing a field's name causes the report to lose its reference to the field. Crystal Report has a verify Database function that checks whether the field in a report match the fields in the current data
source. Accessing that function from the menu for Crystal Reports>Databse>verify Database. Hope to clear your issue
