I am probably doing something wrong that very simple. I couldn't find it by searching either. If anyone can point me in the right direction, please.
I have been trying to put links in my posts. But the forum keeps mucking about with the URLs, making them unusable.
For instance, I type "this", select it then click on the "Insert/edit link" button. I enter a reference to an earlier post of mine:
"http://forums.asp.net/p/1621787/4165324.aspx" And click "Update". Then I Post it.
What I end up with is a link to "http://forums.asp.net/p/p/1621787/4165324.aspx". When I edit the post, I find the URL has been changed to "../../p/1621787/4165324.aspx". I take out the "p/" and
post again....and it works....until I leave and come back later...
How DO I make working link to a previous post? I see others do it fine. Even copying these links doesn't seem to work for me.

I frequently do exactly as you describe, and have never noticed any problem.
Your OS/Browser might be worth posting. (I'm using IE8 on Win XP.)

I use IE8 on a 64 bit Windows 7.
I noticed that most of the links I see are written as text in the post, like the ones in my first post. It seems the posts where I use a phrase to describe the post as text are when it goes wrong.
Hmmmm, let me try it here. I just stuck
http://forums.asp.net/p/1621787/4165324.aspx on the here.

I post links two different ways:
The "THIS TEXT" link, above, works BOTH in PREVIEW mode, and AFTER I posted.

Hmmmmmm, next attempt. Setting target to same window
And to add to it, also one for which I set Title
Looked like setting target worked at first. Then after edit, the p gets doubled again.
Weird effect in my previous post: The hrefs for the last two links are the same. The texts are not. It works if the text is the URL, and not if the text is "here".
Just tried the IE8 32 bits version. Viewing this same thread....without problem.
